Chiller Plant Updates-Ice Plant
Southern Arizona VA Health Care System
Mr. Otero performed as the Superintendent/ SSHO on this project to connect the chilled water thermal storage systems to buildings 2, 38 and 40 at the VA Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Building 40 was built to house 600 tons of thermal storage and includes pump, heat exchangers, and a glycol management system consisting of two new 600-ton chillers.
Work also involved in-depth chilled-water, electrical and DDC integration. Integration of the new chilled water thermal ice storage system was invasive and required shutting down cooling, electrical and controls of the entire site in three separate locations.
